This is for December 2022.
PeerTube is out on version 5.0.0 but my package is still at v4.3.1
gopass updated to 1.15.0 and then to 1.15.1 and then to 1.15.2
hugo has been updated to 0.108.0 then to 0.109.0
syncthing is still on version 1.22.2
garage has been brought to 0.8.0
The commits are as usual, there are some basic fixes (if defined(__DragonFly__) at the right place, etc.) and some that I’d like to point out more specifically.
cad/freecad has been unlocked, but is left untested, the only sure thing is that it now builds properly.
editors/emacs-devel is now building with the NATIVECOMP
option being enabled, which supports the native compilation of Lisp files. That should give some performance boost according to some.
As I was mentionning x11-servers/xorg-server last month, some work has been done on that matter, and udev is now enabled, with some more fixes. These ones have been tested by Matthew DILLON and some more users reported them as working as well.
I would also like to point out the following two messages from the mailing list where more details are given regarding the use of evdev in Xorg server now and the way one can configure things regarding mouse speed. It has to be noted that one has to install x11-drivers/xf86-input-evdev but x11-drivers/xf86-input-libinput should also be supported.
On a side note, I tried to help a user that was trying to setup net/xrdp, and it seems that port needs some changes, as it puts some content in /etc/X11
, which should not happen. Also the default configuration seems to be non-functionnal as it points to /usr/local/libexec/Xorg
(not setuid’ed) instead of /usr/local/libexec/Xorg.wrap
.
Using that wrapper works in addition to creating /usr/local/etc/X11/Xwrapper.config
and putting allowed_users = anybody
in it.
But some more testing on my side is needed before I can suggest some changes at the DPort level.
Nothing has been done yet.
Some work has been started by Antonio HUETE to have some easier to read basic documentation for the project, and I have started some work on that already. I hope I will be able to keep on contributing to this.
